Bill Chau, Supervisor, The BRIDGE, UTSC. Bill Chau works at the UTSC Library and supervises The BRIDGE; a multi-purpose academic space that provides hands-on learning experiences for students interested in Management disciplines. Before joining UTSC, Bill worked at several major financial institutions in Toronto and Hong Kong, with expertise in portfolio modelling, trade management and securities brokerage.

David Kwasny, Digital Projects & Technologies Librarian, Digital Scholarship Unit, UTSC Library. David Kwasny has been working in web technologies and data management for over 10 years, primarily working in digital collection management. Prior to joining the UTSC Library, David assisted in the development of the Digital Scholarship Lab at Marquette University, as their Emerging Technologies Librarian.

Kirsta Stapelfeldt, Digital Scholarship Unit Coordinator, UTSC Library. The Digital Scholarship Unit at UTSC Library provides UTSC-specific support for digital scholarship in the areas of data, the digital humanities, digital collections building, digital archiving, and scholarly communications Purpose:

This workshop provides a review of modern data visualization tools as they are utilized in Industry. Participants enrolled in this course will understand the difference between modern data storytelling tools Power BI, Tableau, and Google Data Studio and their predecessors Excel and PowerPoint and complete a hands-on activity designed to increase their familiarity with digital storytelling.
